The village bayside suburb of Hampton is well known for its proximity to the beach and in particular Picnic Point. The brief was to provide patrons with the Grill’d brand experience of ‘more than a burger joint’. The project involved amalgamating 5 commercial site tenancy’s with differing identities, working within a tight budget. To ensure the design worked harmoniously across all commercial sites and to addresses sustainability requirements for community and planet, brick walls were stripped back and whitewashed with a new flooring substrate applied to create the feel of one physical space. The restaurant features an array of seating options, adopting a relaxed coastal Hampton’s eclectic style. Textural elements of painted wood paneling in ocean inspired blues, contrasted by patterns of layered rattan joinery and acoustic ceiling paneling compliment the bespoke banquet seating featuring upholstery in neutral nautical stripes which work cohesively to elevate the space for a soothing dining experience.
