The Bay Hotel
The Bay Hotel
The Bay Hotel’s four walls have contained a bevy of past lives: first, as a nineteenth-century bank; then a restaurant, hotel and nightclub. Today, it’s a cherished local haunt only steps away from Mornington’s azure esplanade.
Inspired by the cosy ambience of traditional Irish pubs, we sought to sympathetically restore the historic building while giving the Mornington community a contemporary hangout they could enjoy for years to come. Using a mix of traditional and modern elements, Studio Y has turned the traditional Aussie beachside boozer on its head.

Drawing as much from classic Australian pubs as it does Ganley Group’s signature Irish spirit, we’ve designed the venue to stand the test of time – despite its many past iterations, it feels like it might have always looked this way.
