Brick Lane Market
Brick Lane Market
Somewhere at the intersection of bar, restaurant and retail space, Brick Lane Market is an inclusive community-driven space that subverts the traditional relationship between staff and customer. There’s grab-and-go fridges positioned behind the bar; and wheelchair-accessible non-linear seating arrangements that feel as though you’re just having a drink at your friend’s kitchen bench.
We worked closely with the Brick Lane team to define the identity they wanted for their first flagship location. The existing conditions of the Mercat Cross Hotel site set the tone for a contemporary industrial aesthetic, with its exposed brick and concrete bones, which we then imbued with pops of the brand’s signature red – powder-coated edge details, upholstery, tiling and RGB lighting emanating from the feature keg room.
